This week I am the artist in residence at the Prattsville Arts Center located in the small town on Prattsville, up in the Catskills Mountains in New York State. Making art here is quite a change from my little warehouse out in the industrial part of Campbellfield, and it is a delight to be here!
What am I working on? Well see as I am up in the mountains at the state of winter in a snow place, I did think I would like to see if I could paint on snow. However, an oddly warm week has seen it go above 0 degrees and rain has started to wash much of the snow away. It should start to snow again tonight – so fingers crossed that I can attempt my snow painting. I have also become a little obsessed with the idea of painting dinosaurs and fossils, so I am having fun playing around with gouache.
Either way, this is a week for trailing out a few things with the hope of much failure and mistakes – with the hope that many mistakes and failure will push me into a new art making place. I will just have to see!
