Heat stress from hotter overall temperatures and more extreme weather events are causing the grey-headed flying fox (fruit bat) populations to migrate further south each year. In prolonged heatwaves, many die from heat stress, particularly the young kits born in the preceding spring.

About the artist:

Luna Cameron-Parrish is a mixed media artist, working with glass, ceramics, polymer clay, found objects and other media as wanted.  She has a strong interest in upcycling and re-using existing materials. 

Luna’s current passion is to make pieces that comment on environmental concerns, social issues and animal rights. She aims to create work that is accessible but contains a more serious underlying message, and to this end often employs humour:
