Hello and welcome to my final art newsletter for 2014 – and what a year it has been.

The last few months have seen me out and about with my art at the Rose Street Artist market, the Spring Fling Festival Artist Market and the Deloraine Craft Fair. A big thanks to everyone who has stopped to chat with me, look at my work or purchase some of my work. It has been a delight meeting everyone and having conversations on such a wide range of topics.

The Deloraine Craft fair at the start of November (a four day amazing event for those who have not had the chance to attend it) was my first stop in my 12+ month adventure around Australia as a nomadic artist and I have been in Tasmania since then. Tasmania is wonderful and I have been a busy getting source image for various art projects plus lots of photographs as I wonder around (last night I spend the night doing long exposure shots of glow worms for reasons known only to myself at this stage!) I also decided (and lets all just ignore the logic behind this) to bring my oil paints with me, so painting has been done, and figuring our how to travel with wet paintings has now become a well honed skill.  Whilst I leave Tasmania in a few weeks, I can safely say that I will be back to this very awesome part of the world, so Tassie, be warned – you have not seen the last of me!

Christmas is rapidly approaching, and this is the time of the year when we are all encouraged to spend like there is no tomorrow.  If I can thrown my two cents in and say – if you are going to spend money, please go out and support your local artists, farmers, crafters and stores. There are some amazing talented people out there, creating / growing / cooking amazing things – please show these people some love and support.

If you are thinking of purchasing some of my artwork, photographs and cards are once again available at Incub8tor.  Incub8tor is a wonderful store at 321 Smith Street Fitzroy, which showcases the handy work of 80+ local artists, and one of my favourite places to get gifts. Check it out if you are in the area! Not in Melbourne, or can’t get to Fitzroy but still want to purchase some of my work? Just send me an email and we can work something out!

2015 looks to be an exciting year for me. I will final get around to finishing the hand printing and hand colouring of my shots from my India trip in June this year (exhibition details to be announced). I will be a nomadic artist for 2015 and I am crossing all fingers and toes that my great darkroom-in-the-desert plans all work. I have a few social documentary photography projects in the pipeline as well – yes, it can be said that I have a pretty awesome 2015 lined up!

I wish you all the best for your 2015 – whatever adventures come your way. Stay safe on the roads over Christmas (actually stay safe on the road all year round!). Thanks again for your support,

Cheers, Georgia
