Hello hello,
Firstly a huge thanks you to all who came along to my latest exhibition – The Flock, at Incube.8r. It was wonderful to meet and chat with many folks at the opening night. The lovely and talented photographer, Cat Black, was there on the night taking some shots for me. Her write up of the night and images can be found here.
Next week I am jumping on the ferry over to Tasmania, to once again take part in the Deloraine Craft Fair (or as I prefer to call it – Craftapooloza!). I participated in 2014 and had a most wonderful four days! It’s an amazing job that they all do organizing such a wonderful four day event – and I am keen as mustard to get back down to my favourite state in Australia. If you are in Deloraine – come on past and say hello!
My obsession with lithography continues – however, this week, I added to my obsession – SOLAR PLATE PRINTING!! It has been years since I did it, so this week I took myself off to a most wonderful of workshops and had a refresher!
See below for a sneak peak of one of the plates I was working on! I have some plans for this printmaking method – working from images taken during my adventures driving around the country in 2015… one can never be said I am a speedy artist!
One of my lithography prints will be included in the upcoming ‘Impressions 2016’ exhibition at the Australian Print Workshop. Opening night is Friday 25th November, 6-8pm. The Australian Print Workshop Gallery is at 210 Gertrude Street, Fitzroy. If you walk on past and peek through the window on most Wednesdays or Fridays – you can spot me printing… I am the messy one, with ink on her face and lost in a haze of printmaking joy!
Anyhoo, hope you all have a wonderful November!
Cheers, Georgia.
