Hello hello,
It has been yet another exciting month in my little art world. I hope it has been as an exciting month for you.
Firstly – a big thanks to all who stopped past and chatted with me at the last Raw Showcase at the end of August. I had a hoot of a time! I hope you all did as well!
My art and I have been all over the shop this month. Last week, I filled my little van and was on the Hume up to Sydney. For the last week, until next Tuesday morning (3rd October) a collection of my artwork is the window exhibition of the The Makery on Oxford Street, Darlinghurst. If you are in the area, stop on past and check it out – plus check out the rest of the shop – its packed with awesome creations from mostly Sydney based creatives.
My snail obsession continues – which is good as I am now having a solo exhibition of my snail artworks. A couple of my snail paintings have come and joined me at Raw and up in Sydney, but I am now a busy little beaver working on the rest of the collection. The exhibition is called: ‘Escargot, don’t go.’
To sum up the exhibition:
“A collection of artworks by Georgia Laughton expressing her love of snails, her general state of being a confused human who can’t quite understand how friendships and relationships work, or how to be a contributing member of society. She thinks the snails are onto something.”
It will be at the wonderful Incube8r Gallery (321 Smith St, Fitzroy) from the 23 November until 5 December. Opening night is on Thursday 23rd November 6pm-8pm. Come along and have a chat with me about your feelings towards snails or any other topic!
That really sums up my month! Hope you have a delightful month as well.
Cheers, Georgia
