Samples of water taken from the deepest ocean trenches to the highest mountain tops are showing the presence of microplastics. There is no part of the world these particles cannot touch. In humans, microplastics are showing up in semen and placenta on a regular basis. The long-term potential effects cannot be determined at present. Our addiction to plastic and the fossil fuel it is made from is changing the planet, and possibly killing us.

About the artist:
Luna Cameron-Parrish is a mixed media artist, working with glass, ceramics, polymer clay, found objects and other media as wanted.  She has a strong interest in upcycling and re-using existing materials.
Luna’s current passion is to make pieces that comment on environmental concerns, social issues and animal rights. She aims to create work that is accessible but contains a more serious underlying message, and to this end often employs humour:
