What’s currently happening in my art world?

2024 has kicked off with some of my artworks up on the walls of the Lomond Hotel back room. “Everything Is Fucked and We Should Die In A Fire” is a group show with artworks by erincox, Julie Twomey, Mandy Connell, Ron Guy and myself. It is up for a few more weeks – so if you find yourself in Brunswick East then stop on by for a drink, food, music and art – basically its a one stop shop to keep or your senses happy!

Some of my artwork that is up includes an oil in canvas painting of a dead cockroach. Sadly it did not stand a chance against my sliding bathroom door – and its death just summed up feelings about how humans are doing a good job of fucking up the planet, that who knows, maybe even the cockroaches will up dead along side us. It also looked damn beautiful – so I decided that maybe I might just start painting all the things that I accidentally kill (who knows, maybe I don’t need to paint a zillion mosquito paintings – only time will tell).

Summery of life and other things:

Art being made: Working on a painting of my feelings of being out to breakfast with neurotypical people.

Art I have been looking at: Nothing in person! That would mean venturing into the big wide world – and honestly the last few weeks of human-ing have me worn out. But art adventures are in the future pipeline.

Music being played on repeat: Sick Boi, by Ren.

Books being read: Switched On: A Memoir of Brain Change and Emotional Awakening. By John Elder Robison.
